Day 1:
- Arrival in Bahir Dar: Upon your arrival in Bahir Dar, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You will have some time to rest and relax before starting your tour.
- Blue Nile Falls: In the afternoon, we will visit the magnificent Blue Nile Falls, also known as “Tis Issat” meaning “Smoking Water” in Amharic. You will witness the power and beauty of the falls as the water plunges down the gorge, creating a spectacular sight.
- Lake Tana Boat Trip: After visiting the falls, we will take a boat trip on Lake Tana, the largest lake in Ethiopia. You will visit some of the ancient monasteries located on the islands of the lake, such as Ura Kidane Mehret and Azwa Maryam.
Day 2:
- Drive to Gonder: After breakfast, we will drive to Gonder, known as the “Camelot of Africa” due to its rich history and impressive castles. Upon arrival, we will visit the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which includes the famous Fasil Ghebbi castle complex. You will explore the various castles, churches, and other historical buildings within the enclosure.
- Debre Berhan Selassie Church: We will also visit the Debre Berhan Selassie Church, known for its beautiful frescoes and ceiling artwork. The church is a masterpiece of Ethiopian Orthodox Christian art and architecture.
Day 3:
- Drive to Semien Mountains National Park: After breakfast, we will drive to Semien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to stunning landscapes and unique wildlife. Upon arrival, we will start our trekking adventure in the park, exploring the breathtaking scenery, including deep valleys, jagged cliffs, and endemic wildlife such as the Gelada baboons and Ethiopian wolves.
- Trekking in Semien Mountains: You will have the opportunity to hike to different viewpoints, enjoy picnic lunches amidst the stunning nature, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the mountains.
Day 4:
- Return to Bahir Dar: After breakfast, we will drive back to Bahir Dar, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, you will have some free time to explore the city, visit local markets, or relax by the shores of Lake Tana.
- Departure: In the evening, our representative will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your Bahir Dar, Gonder, and Semien Mountain tour.
